In August of 1954, Bob Sparboe founded the Sparboe Company upon returning from service in the Korean War. Originally a chick distributor for Hy Line, Bob sold day-old laying hens to farmers in a seven county area in Central Minnesota. Over the years, the company grew from a local to regional to national to international enterprise involved in egg production and processing, nutrition and financial services. Today, the company encompasses five divisions:
	Sparboe Farms Recognized as the fifth largest shell egg producer and marketer in the United States. Sparboe Farms serves retail, wholesale and foodservice customers in 26 states. The core focus of Sparboe Farms is to service grocery distributors, retailers, foodservice, and processors who require superior quality eggs and egg products, both branded and private label. Sparboe Foods A leading egg breaking and further processing company, Sparboe Foods operates plants in Iowa and California serving industrial and foodservice customers in central and western U.S. AGRI-TECH Formed in 1970, AGRI-TECH serves a significant portion of the egg and poultry industry throughout the United States with cost-effective nutrition and management services and as a supplier of vitamin-trace mineral premixes. AGRI-TECH services result in lower feed costs and higher productivity for producers. Center Insurance Agency Center Insurance Agency is a full-service agency serving commercial clients in the poultry, agribusiness, food industries, and manufacturing industries by providing cost-effective insurance and customized risk management programs for customers across the country. Center National Bank Center National Bank is a major commercial, retail and agribusiness financial institution located in Litchfield, Minnesota. Center Bank is serving commercial and agribusiness customers across the country who are attracted to the bank's expertise in poultry, agribusiness and food industries.
